POSITION: KITCHEN MANAGER.


The Hurley House Kitchen Manager runs the kitchen and oversees the production of all the food at Hurley House. The role of Kitchen Manager at Hurley House is a vital component to executing our overall vision of hospitality.

This person executes tasks with precision, has a robust work ethic, and communicates openly and directly with other team members.

This person will manage a kitchen team of approximately four to six part time employees. The Kitchen Manger cultivates the talents of others, leads by example, and creates a kind, safe, and supportive work environment.

The Kitchen Manager has experience cooking and baking, and understands the language of recipes and food productions.

This person is confident in the kitchen, possesses strong knife skills, understands the mechanics of batters, doughs, and frostings as well as browning meat, cooking pasta, seasoning food, mixing vinaigrettes, roasting vegetables, and preparing food in large quantities. Cake decorating skills are mandatory (buttercream only).

The Kitchen Manager understands how to prepare a daily workflow and production schedule, delegate wisely, and do whatever is necessary to make sure the work is done in a timely manner.

This person posses a strong sense of timing, with a mind for managing logistics in a forward-thinking manner.

The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter who is energized by a consistent workflow and is able to assimilate large amounts of information.

The ideal candidate can think ahead, see the big picture, and break down large tasks into manageable steps.

This person is excited by growth opportunities at Hurley House and efforts to find ways to make change happen in an environment that values constant improvement.

This position is approximately thirty hours of work per week and requires availability Monday through Friday beginning at 8:00 am. The pay rate for this position begins at $12 per hour.

POSITION: KITCHEN TEAM MEMBER

A member of the Hurley House kitchen team understands that producing delicious food with consistently excellent results is a vital component to our company’s vision of hospitality.

A kitchen team member has some experience or familiarity in the kitchen, but is above all teachable and open to learning the way our processes work.

A Hurley House kitchen team member is willing to work hard, regardless of the task, and understands that everyone contributes to the overall goal of producing the necessary product with excellence and attention to detail.

Our kitchen team culture is kind, supportive, and loving. We do not gossip. We do not create drama. We do not tolerate dishonesty. We own our mistakes, learn from them, and effort to grow and improve every day.

The ideal kitchen candidate is motivated, dependable, can follow instructions, and enjoys cooking and/or baking alongside others.

This position will range in hours and offers some flexibility. The pay rate for this position begins at $10 per hour and provides opportunity for growth and promotion to qualified candidates.
